As first time buyers, we were apprehensive and overwhelmed by the prospect of entering the real estate market and decided to seek Britta’s assistance; she was highly recommended by another Sotheby’s agent a family member had used on the East Coast.
From the first day that we worked with Britta we were struck by her incredible enthusiasm and heartfelt sincerity. In addition to being a talented real estate agent, Britta is unfailingly punctual and organized. She always called or e-mailed when she said she would and made sure to arrive early to appointments to view properties. Britta went out of her way to ensure that house hunting did not interfere with our busy work schedules, which only permitted us to look at properties on some weekends or in the late evenings. Despite this constraint, Britta always made time to go to properties with us or answer our questions, even if it cut into her own personal time. On one evening, she took time in the middle of a personal obligation to speak on the phone with us for over an hour about a specific property (which was the property that we ended up buying).
We were also very impressed with Britta’s ability to both handle specific details, like scheduling all of our property inspections in a very short period of time, while also understanding big picture concepts and negotiating on our behalf for the best possible purchase terms. As we were first time buyers in a new city we had no idea where to start in terms of hiring home improvement specialists like painters. Britta was always willing to offer multiple suggestions, and although she encouraged us to vet the contractors on her own, all of her recommendations were with reliable and reputable organizations who did a fantastic job.
Essentially, we did not feel like we just had a real estate agent, we felt like we had someone in our corner, with endless enthusiasm, who was negotiating on our behalf every step of the way. In particular, I recall one instance where the seller’s real estate agent told us we could not view a property during a specific time period, the only time period we were available. Britta told us she would handle it, and the next day we received confirmation that we could view the property at the date and time we requested.
